About me.
Hi!
I’m Pietro.
I’m an arborist and a regenerative hydrology specialist. For years I’ve looked at the climate crisis from London’s windows, where I’ve worked for almost 10 years.
Deep in those office times I felt the urgency to do something concrete about it. Left the office. Upgraded my skills. And I funded Water Roots.
A fresh take on ancient practices working in a network of landscaping experts, agronomists, technicians and earthworks professionals. Truly passionate and knowledgeable people, united by the will to restore our planet’s health.
At the root
of Water Roots.
My work is a blend of different experiences and influences:
Inspiration
I was truly inspired by Victor Shauberger's story and his insights on moving water. So I started studying how to work with it and not against it.
International education
I grew my professional expertise thanks to the Water Stories course devised by Zach Weiss, apprentice of the Austrian farmer that managed to grow just about anything at 1200 metres above sea level, Sepp Holzer.
Skills sharpening in Italy
I went back to Italy to further my expertise with local experts Lorenzo Costa e Danilo D’Antoni, to go more in-depth into our complex and diverse geographical context.
